Frequently Asked Questions

Accurate answers about billing, permissions, attendance, task scoring, payroll, and WhatsApp automation.

OutputWork billing is based on purchased seat capacity. A seat is consumed immediately when a member is added or invited (both invited and active members occupy a seat slot).

If all purchased seats are in use, the app will prompt you to purchase additional seats or upgrade your plan before sending further invitations. Deleting a member immediately frees up their seat slot.

Owners can manage subscription seats from Billing & Seats.

OutputWork separates administrative access from day-to-day job functions:

  • System Access Levels:
    • Level 0 (Owner): The account creator. Full access to all workspaces, organization settings, pay formulas, and billing.
    • Level 1 (Admin): Full access to the Admin Workspace (/dashboard: Team, Output, Attendance, Payments, Analytics). Cannot change Pay Configuration or access Billing.
    • Level 2 (Staff): Access restricted to /my-dashboard (personal tasks, attendance, and pay).
  • Operational Roles: Job titles (e.g. Frontend Engineer, Sales Lead) created under Departments & Roles that carry base salaries and task templates.
  • Lead Roles: Any operational role marked as Lead Role can be held by exactly one person at a time. The lead gets a My Team page (/my-dashboard/team) to review deliverables submitted by anyone whose role reports to theirs in the Org Chart.

Team members click Clock In on their dashboard overview when starting work, and Clock Out at the end of the day. Each entry records timestamps and total duration in time_logs.

If WhatsApp integration is enabled, staff can also text START to clock in and STOP to clock out directly from WhatsApp.

See our guide on Clocking In & Out.
